Self esteem

A person’s self-esteem is a state of mind that is indicative of how you value yourself. You can feel confident and positive in yourself with high self-worth or be negative and critical of yourself and everything around you which results in low self-esteem. Your state of mind is one of the most important and fundamental aspects in your human psyche. It is how we all value ourselves and subsequent perception, that affects everything we do, having a direct impact on all our experiences, behaviours and interactions with other people. Your self-worth gives you a positive or negative perspective of the world around you and colours all of the opportunities that life offers you.

Low self -esteem from childhood plays out throughout our lives. I really identify with this. Our self-esteem is Impacted by a myriad of different life experiences – dysfunctional childhood, our family, our relationships with people throughout life. We create negative memories, beliefs around our everyday exposure to life and our beliefs and feelings effect the way we think about ourselves and our self- worth. Life is full of insecure, controlling people that diminish, undermine, can make us feel inadequate or rob us of our confidence and self-worth if we allow them to. They always take advantage of you. Coercive, mental bullying and control can eat away at a recipient’s self-worth during their lifetimes. Abusive relationships inhibit self-belief, and we take on so many negative beliefs that affect the way we feel about ourselves and expectations.

Some people are lucky enough to be born in the right environment, with the right influences and people, have a sunny, positive disposition, the right attitude, and gain more confidence with ease whilst having a positive outlook from the start. Others have a compromised start in life but manage to succeed with an unwavering focus and ambition.  Most of us have to navigate and influence certain aspects of our lives. In order to create the right mindset, you have to discover your inner confidence and self-worth, develop, create and build on it throughout your life journey. Hard when you were not given the building blocks to start with.

Hypnotherapy is a very powerful tool with other integrative techniques like CBT, NLP and analysis. Together we can work on the subconscious mind and go back into our mental library of events and memories an update our beliefs, take the emotive emotion away from the negative causes, and improve your confidence, self-love and self- esteem.  Ultimately changing your thoughts, feelings and patterns of behaviour to your best self!
